Jacques Loussier was the original pioneer combining jazz with the works of J.S. Bach. Others have tried to do this, but Loussier has remained the most successful. His style remains true to the original works of Bach. Even the casual listener can tell that he takes his work seriously. However, Jacques Loussier's music goes far beyond that.

In 1959, Loussier formed a piano trio that specialised in jazz arrangements of the Baroque master's works for keyboard. The 'Play Bach' series went on to sell tens of millions of albums.
